Clemson University Women’s Rugby Club welcomes Dana Schneider as their new head coach. Schneider, a level 300 coach, began her rugby journey as a player in 1982 and continued to play through 2014. A native of Upstate New York, Schneider has coached both men’s and women’s collegiate rugby. She has also served as secretary for the Upstate Small College Rugby Conference (National Collegiate Rugby Men).
In 2020, Schneider was 1 of 26 American coaches awarded a Premiership Rugby Scholarship by Premiership Rugby, Friends of the British Council, and USA Rugby.
“I’m absolutely delighted and looking forward to working with these talented athletes,” said Schneider.
Following a 2021 undefeated scheduled fall season, the Clemson University Women’s Rugby Club finished as the first runner-up in the South Atlantic Rugby Conference Regionals and are currently ranked 7th in the National Collegiate Rugby Division 1 Coaches Poll. The Clemson University Women’s Rugby Club kick-off their regular Spring 7s season on Feb 19 at home against The Citadel.
